Every float is different for every person. The most important thing is that you are comfortable. Just Relax Floatation provides a safe, private, clean environment for you to enjoy your experience. Each float tank is set in a private lockable room with a shower and changing area. Floating can be enjoyed in silence or you may listen to relaxing music. We supply towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, ear plugs, and hair dryer. Beverages are available for purchase. Most floaters prefer to be nude, but you are welcome to wear a bathing suit if it makes you more comfortable. Upon arriving, you will receive a detailed explanation of how to use the floatation tank. Please feel free to ask any questions or share any concerns, we want to make your experience relaxing and comfortable.
Please follow these guidelines in order to have the most relaxing and comfortable float experience:
·Do not shave the day of floating – it is recommended that you refrain from shaving for several hours prior to floating. This will eliminate any stinging from the Epsom salts.
·Avoid alcohol and stimulants like coffee, tea and cigarettes at least two hours prior to floating. Stimulants can add to endless mind chatter – making it very difficult to relax.
·Do not float if you have an illness, epilepsy, an active or contagious skin condition or any large open wounds. (One exception is to use a waterproof bandage.)
·Small scratches or cuts can be covered with a spray bandage to avoid stinging from the Epsom salts.
·If you would like to listen to your own music or meditation recordings please bring them with you. The floatation tanks are equipped with audio. It is highly suggested that music selections be relaxing and NOT have vocals. Just Relax Floatation has several relaxation and meditation recordings available for use during your float.
·If you are having your period at the time of your float, please take care to use tampons or other appropriate measures to keep the water clean. It is recommended that you not float on heavy flow days.
·Bring your contact lens case and solution if you wear contacts, in case you choose to remove your contacts. Many people report no problem floating with their contacts in.
·If you have swimmer’s ear, are prone to ear infections or any inner ear condition that may be irritated by water, please bring your own water-specific ear plugs, we supply standard disposable ear plugs only.
·Remove your jewelry prior to floating. Metal jewelry can discolor and corrode. Other materials can become “caked” with Epsom salt residue.
·Be careful when entering and exiting the tank – wet surfaces can be slippery.
·Avoid getting the float tank water in your eyes. You may exit your tank at any time to rinse your eyes in the shower. If you do get salt water in your eyes, keep in mind that the stinging will stop soon.
·The music system will be used to signal the end of your floatation session. The details of this will be covered when you are introduced to the floatation tank.
·After floating be careful to completely rinse the salt water from your skin, hair and ears. As the salt water dries, it will leave a white residue if not completely rinsed.
Many floaters report experiencing stronger smells, brighter colors, more enhanced flavors and intricate sounds after floating.
